Today we went to the academia, where the David by Michelangelo. It amazes me how huge it is and how beautiful! I am so in awe of the ability of the sculptors that we have seen so far. Photos were not permitted so we have precious little to post tonight.
the funny thing is that this is the norm for walking up the stairs--- the first floor is usually three or four flights of stairs... at least they had a chair for a little rest ;-)
you will see that Chris is holding a shopping bag... well my super adorable hubby got me a great gift... a new tablecloth and napkins for the new house! isn't he sweet! I love it, it is green and grey with a flower pattern.
We went to 2 gelato places today one before the David and one after. this first one i had read about on the travel blog the other we stumbled across... the one from the blog was called Carabe-- it was not as good as the second one, which i can't remember the name.
Today's flavors:
Chris-- 1) Espirito de Sciciliano (some kind of citrus) and mango
2.) Extra dark chocolate and passion fruit
Janelle-- 1.) almond and chocolate chip
2.) raspberry and passion fruit
Ais-- 1.) chocolate and hazelnut
2.) double hazelnut
