Second Sunday

today was the second Sunday we have been in Florence. We got up this morning and took the bus to church- but lo and behold it was locked and no one showed up (stake conference??). Shortly after we got there another couple joined us, they were from California- the OC. We all waited for a few minutes and then anther taxi showed up with yet more English speakers, three more. They asked how long we had been waiting and then got back in their taxi and left. The Kellers, Diane and Joe were their names, and our little family walked to the bus stop. An interesting little side note the bus stops are called fermatas here- for anyone who reads music that means a hold. Sooo the the bus does not stop it holds... ;-)
Anyway we all chatted and then took the bus to the city center where our new friends took another bus to their hotel and we walked home. We had leftover pasta from dinner last night. We had bought linked Tuscan sausage and I opened 4 links and made pasta sauce and cooked 4 links whole. Chris really liked them. I liked them better in the sauce than plain but they were good.

I thought i would share some photos of the applicances and the apt. the apt came with a washer-- it is great b/c we can just throw stuff in and didn't need to pack a months worth of cloths...
so here is the washer
tiny- yep that is my hair brush on top for size
 here is the dryer...
it takes about 24 hours for one load to dry
the fridge is next to the stove-- remember the stove height is for a person about 5 foot tall...

 the oven and stove
this mighty little guy does triple duty!!
it is also our dishwasher----

2 plates and a spoon

Stove top- oven- dishwasher in one convenient place
gelato at home again tonight--- sabbath day and all
today's flavor
nutella (chocolate and hazelnut) guess who chose ;-)

I love the pics of your apt! The tile is just beautiful! The dishwasher/oven/stovetop combo is kinda wierd though..."not like weird weird, but like exciting weird!"
