Saturday was a national holiday in Italy. all the major sites and minor shops were closed. Ais and Chris and I walked around and got oriented to the city, forgot the camera. There were still TONS of tourists out, so we felt right at home ;-). Last night for dinner we made spaghetti and had salad. We have had bread with olive oil and balsamic every meal as well.
We have continued in our quest of gelato everyday! Last night i had peanut butter- it was super tasty but left a film on the top of my mouth. To further our quest but keep the Sabbath we bought gelato from the little market a street or two over. It is a nutella flavor and also really good- too much chocolate for my taste but my chocoholic family LOVES it.
Ais and Chris braved the bus system this morning and went to church. I stayed home to rest. It was nice but took about an hour for them to get there, both walking to a bus stop and then on the bus and a bit longer to get back (only got lost once or twice).
Tomorrow we begin Florence in earnest!
