things to be thankful for

Our Thanksgiving holiday was uneventful. We stayed home and had invited people from the ward (without family near) to join us. In the end- Chris and I had the day to ourselves.
it was quiet and not much happened.
Last night (Friday) we had a not so uneventful evening.
Chris had complained of a pain in his side. When we went to bed he complained of his left shoulder and arm. His side and chest hurt still.
We went to the ER. After a thorough workup it turns out Chris has blood clots in both his lungs.
the good news is--- he did not have a heart attack! ;-)
We do not know why he got the clots.
He was admitted to the hospital overnight for observation. He is home now. He started blood thinners and will be on blood thinners for the next 9 months, at least.
We go back to the doctor for a follow-up on Monday.
