Monday in Florence is a day off for most of the tourist attractions and even some regular markets.
We went to the large grocery store this morning and got fresh bread and a few other things. on our way to the market we stopped for our first gelato of the day (aka breakfast of champions)...
on the way back we stopped at a pastry shop and bought some cream puffs...

We had lunch at home and then walked to the Michelangelo Square. It is a beautiful overlook of the city on hill. It was a bit of a hike... but well worth it.

As long as we were at the top of the hill we decide to
explore what else there was there… we were delighted to find a basilica and cemetery.

Chris
has found a new interest in the olive--- here he is with a tree, and some
flowers from the trees and even little fruit. I think if we lived here we would
be olive farmers.

ricotta with pear
Janelle 1- Bianci de Firenze (yogurt with chocolate chips
