today we took a tour of the museums of the Vatican. It was very extensive. we then walked to the basilica. The basilica was closed this morning because the Pope has an audience every Wed morning. we hung around until the afternoon, mostly killing time with lunch and a little souvenir shopping (i remembered mom ;-)) then headed to the basilica. the lines were about 1- 1.5 hours wait so we headed back to the hotel to wait  out the heat. about 2 hours later i woke up... guess i have been tired. it was very warm/hot today and very bright. here are some photos
