Christmas Eve

Our family has the tradition of opening our gifts on Christmas eve.
A little piece of the old country that lives on in our lives.
I am spending Christmas with my parents this year...
the first time in many years that I have been with them for the onslaught of presents.
Tonight the paper was flying!
One of my favorites to watch tonight was a gift to mom!!
Then I got something that I love!!!
SHOES.... and I get to pick them out-
does it get any better than that?

Then we had our traditional Christmas eve dinner...

Nachos.....

Dad and I really enjoyed them. We also had some yummy flavored 7-Up.

Christmas was truly wonderful and full of love and joy.

Mom and dad gave me a plaque for my desk that has my name and PhD Candidate under it. I cried and not that glamorous and beautiful glistening tear but rather the ugly I'm gonna cry face and all. My heart is so touched and warmed by their sheer love and pride in me. They make me feel like I could do anything...

I am so very blessed this season.
In a card I received from a friend he had written:
"May the birth of Christ into this world bring joy and peace into your heart"
I pass they wish and blessing on tonight.
